Large-scale Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets struck the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area came under intense attacks overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The assaults come after periods of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
